Who am I? .. and conversations..

Who am I or rather what am I ? The question's been plaguing me recently.
Off late I have realized that I am not able to deeply relate with anybody. Even the most intellectual of discussions that I come across fail to enthuse me. I almost see through all of them. I participate in these discussions for the sake of it. Just so I dont come across as totally quite. I observe people arguing like great philosophers about problems of life all of which seem very mundane to me.
Is something wrong with me? I dont think so.
Whats conversation? Two people talking? How many times have you talked to somebody and realized that you are not really talking. I see the following types of conversations:
The other person
1 - Trying to express his/her point of view. Trying to make himself useful.
2 - Expressing an opposite point of view. Trying to act devil's advocate.
3 - Agreeing and then stating how a contrary point of view also makes sense.
4 - just not getting it and talking immaturely.
5 - thinking what would make him/her look impressive

What is real conversation. where you dont think about the people talking. you really think about what you are talking about. Make yourself one with the discussion. Doesnt matter if you are hurting anybody. Doesnt matter if you are quiet for a long time. Doesnt matter if you are the only one talking if you need to. Be an invisible participant in a useful conversation.
